Our employees are the guarantors of our success, as our company thrives on the creativity, commitment and the knowledge and personal skills of our employees. Therefore it is all the more important for us to support our employees through suitable measures, providing them with further education and ensuring long-term loyalty to our company, which leads to excellent opportunities and career prospects for our employees.
Training with future prospects
Our young talent comes primarily from within our own company. For this reason we offer our apprentices many other options to enhance and expand upon what has already been learned, such as training excursions, product knowledge training, in-house training and exam preparation courses, alongside offers by vocational schools or the Wirtschaftsakademie. Through these additional courses and events our apprentices usually pass their final exams with good or very good marks. This is the foundation of a successful professional career.

Continued education
Our employees receive training in the “Mitarbeiter schulen Mitarbeiter“ programme (“Employees train Employees”). These training courses, taught by employees, focus on topics such as organic products, regional origin and labour law, amongst others. Not only do the employees exchange ideas amongst themselves, but knowledge is also passed on to the attending employees. Especially committed employees who have excelled through extraordinary achievement, are given the opportunity to complete a further education course to become a commercial specialist, the so-called Handelsfachwirt.
Benefits and pension plan
In this day and age the statutory pension plan is often insufficient. We therefore offer our employees the option of a company pension plan, so that the future of our employees is secured, even after they reach the end of their working life.
Furthermore our employees are also given the opportunity to take out additional private insurance, such as for dentures or sickness benefits.
We make a contribution to the German Vermögenswirksame Leistungen savings scheme, if our apprentices opt for this tax-exempt scheme. Our apprentices and employees additionally receive holiday and Christmas bonuses.

Dialogue with customers
A sound, health-conscious and balanced diet is the foundation of a long, happy life. People are becoming increasingly aware of this. The way we design our product range has a direct influence on the diet of our customers.
We take special care to display the ingredients in our quality brands in a meaningful and helpful manner, for which we rely on the food profile. Our nutritional table contains eight pieces of information instead of four. Furthermore the total calorie count per person and its percentage of the Guideline Daily Amount (GDA) is indicated for each product. The so-called “bad four” are also stated, i.e. the sugar, fat, saturated fat and salt content. These are represented in the form of a barrel indicating grams per serving and in a percentage showing how much of the maximum daily allowance one portion constitutes. On top of this we also inform the customer about other characteristics of the product, for example whether it is free from gluten or lactose.
